MoPay is a Chrome extension that helps you choose the best credit card at checkout. Your privacy is fundamental to how we built this extension. MoPay was designed from the ground up to keep your data on your device and under your control.
MoPay does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, card numbers, or browsing data to external servers. Everything stays on your device.
Information We Collect
MoPay stores only the information you provide directly within the extension:
- The names and reward categories of credit cards you add (no card numbers are ever requested, stored, or transmitted)
- Your site-specific card preferences
- Extension settings you configure
MoPay reads page content solely to detect whether you are on a checkout page in order to provide card recommendations. This content is processed locally and is never stored or transmitted.
How We Use Information
The information stored by MoPay is used exclusively to:
- Recommend the best credit card to use based on the merchant category
- Display your saved card preferences within the extension popup
- Remember your settings between browser sessions
No data is used for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose other than providing card recommendations to you.
Data Storage
All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. This means:
- Your data never leaves your browser
- No external databases or cloud services are used
- No server-side storage exists
- Data is tied to your Chrome profile and device
Third Parties
MoPay does not share, sell, or transmit any data to third parties. There are:
- No analytics or tracking services
- No advertising networks
- No external API calls
- No third-party scripts or SDKs
Your Rights
You have full control over your data at all times:
- View your data — All stored information is visible within the extension interface
- Modify your data — Edit or remove any cards or preferences through the extension
- Delete all data — Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data completely
Because no data is transmitted externally, there is no remote data to request deletion of.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
